I've been getting tons of hits lately from people Googling for the definition of "res ipsa loquitur," which had me bumfuzzled. Until I saw this in the Onion:Not all of the justices admit to being so nervous, however. Asked to assess his prospects for losing his virginity within the next two months, a confident Scalia lifted his judicial robe and quipped, "Res ipsa loquitur."
"The thing speaks for itself." Indeed.
