McCain Sings Babs

McCain Sings Babs

For those of you that didn't watch Sen. McCain on SNL last night, that's what you missed. The scene opens, McCain's standing there with a microphone, cheesy lighting. He starts singing, badly. I'm not paying that much attention until I hear him break out into a riff of "People, people who need people." I start giggling. He stops... looks straight into the camera and says.... "She's been trying to do my job for 20 years, so I thought tonight I'd try to do hers." I lost it. ROTF. LMAO. The camera cuts to a shot of a CD, entitled "Sen. John McCain Sings Babs." Back to McCain. He continues singing snippets of all her signature songs. I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. He keeps stopping and making these great digs like "Pretty annoying, huh? Now you know how I feel!" and "It's not so funny when it happens to you is it?"

It was truly priceless. I've never been much of a fan of the Senator, but I have to say John, my man, my hat goes off to you. That took some cajones. Kudos to you for pulling it off so well. (And your parody of "Meet the Press" was good too.)

We were laughing too hard to tape it, but I'm looking for sound clips and will update with links if I can find them.
