Another Protest
We had another protest last night up on the town square....a candlelight vigil organized by one of the local churches and the OMNI Center for Peace. Quite a peaceful event, there was an open microphone, and each speaker had 5 minutes in which to voice his or her opinion. Why can't more have this much class?
I mean, I disagree with statements like this:
Toward the end of the vigil 21-year-old Patria Ostrom walked out of the crowd. While not a member of the OMNI Center, Ostrom attended the vigil to voice her disagreement with the government’s choice to enter the war. "I’m here because the entire world and everyone I know stands against the war and what we’re doing. I don’t think is fair," Ostrom said. "The entire world thinks we’re arrogant now and will hate us by the time this is over."
but I respect her right to make such statements and the manner in which it was made.
After all, they all kept their clothes on.

What makes her believe that the world likes her now? She doesn't know it, but MANY people in the world hate her because she has the freedom to walk foward aand speak her mind. A freedom, I might remind her some one else paid for and continues to pay for to this day. Silver, gold or platnum spoon in her mouth? Life is SO complicated for those of us that do not have to struggle to stay alive. The only thing in this life that matters is your willingness to ACT on pricipal. "Talk is cheap......"

Sorry about the typing. The baby has been sick, (reaction to the DPT vacine), and I am not getting much sleep.

I don't miss the baby vaccine days...hope he feels better soon.
Funny, most of the people I know support the war. Of course, they also work for a living too. Correlation or causation? Hmmm.

We spent 2 hours in the hospital last night. You could cook eggs on his chest. And he is cutting molars. All in all, not a happy camper.

At least you all missed the nonsense in SF yesterday. So did I, thank God (work near Stanford). I've been thinking about the aggregate value of the work time lost yesterday. It's a pity someone doesn't go ahead with a class action against ANSWER and the other anti-war types for those aggregate damages.
Regards,
Tony
