The Oscars

I received, via e-mail, a request to post the following from Adam Mossof, who is blogless at the moment....always happy to oblige a faithful reader.

The Oscars will air this Sunday, and, as reported on MSNBC:

"A group of celebrities have opted to wear peace pins to the ceremony. Dustin Hoffman, Julianne Moore, Jim Carrey, Ben Affleck, Michael Moore and Kirsten Dunst will be wearing Artists United to Win Without War buttons attached to their garb, which is predicted to be less flashy than usual.

"Others are said to be planning to wear peace doves or a piece of duct tape, recalling the government suggestion to employ the utility tape to seal up rooms in the event of a biological attack."

I think it's time to let these celebrities know that such statements and actions -- when U.S. troops are engaged in combat -- are unacceptable and will not be countenanced anymore. Artists United to Win Without War? How many more Scuds does Saddam have to shoot at our troops before these people realize that so-called "diplomacy" utterly failed to remove a threat to the U.S. and to the rest of the world? Even Hans Blix has now confessed -- too little and too late -- that his inspectors would have never uncovered all of Saddam's hidden weapons and WMD programs.

Compared to the Hollywood stars of WWII, today's actors are a national disgrace.

We should let our dollars speak for us--by withholding them from these vile excuses for Americans who abuse the access to the media they have earned as mere actors and film-makers to engage in disgusting anti-American political rhetoric.

I dunno....if they wear the duct tape over their mouths, might be worth watching.

Naaahh, probably not.

Adam is a great guy, and he has scored a bullseye here. Thanks for posting it.

Lord help me. Maybe this is why I don't feel like watching television lately. Can't stand any of these peaceholes right now.
