Hurray!

Not only is the war going well, but I was overjoyed to read this morning that we are at long last getting a Starbucks! (Link via Fark) How exciting is that? Sure, the first one will be in central Little Rock, which with the neverending construction on I-40 is a 4 hr. drive from here, but we'll get one of our very own here in Fayette-nam soon. And we'll finally get removed from the list of states that do not have a single Starbucks anywhere in the state.

It took the company so long to come to Arkansas because a strong market for the shops in urban areas pushed the state back on the list, Lewis said.

Why, pretty soon you won't be able to swing a dead cat without hitting a Starbucks....and all those pro-Saddam protesters will finally have a brand-name coffee shop at which to sit & discuss the success of their lame, poorly attended protests. I even hear tell they even have these little special-made stirrers which will replace our freshly cut sticks.

Progress isn't always a good thing though, you know....first comes Starbucks, then they start expecting you to wear shoes all the time.

But the question is, When will they build the first Starbucks in Baghdad. You know it's coming.

Probably quicker than us getting one here in Fayette-nam.

Conquering the world through capitalism....ain't it great!

...and now you too can pay five bucks for a cup of coffee. :-)

I am utterly astounded. Even our local supermarket chain (Giant Food) has a Starbucks botique in the front of the store.
