Local "Die-In"
Some of our local university idiots students staged a "die-in" in front of the student union yesterday. (Judging from the photo, I'd recommend a liberal application of sunscreen on their little baldy heads next time.) There were about 40 participants, mostly ignored by the rest of the student body.
Students took turns lying on the ground with pictures of what organizers said were Iraqi civilians taped to their chests and backs. A few members of the Northwest Arkansas Coalition for Peace, a community-based organization, personified death as they roamed through the crowd in black robes, drawing outlines around the bodies. The still bodies and black-cloaked figures were a striking counterpoint to the warm, sunny day, as other students walked past and often through the demonstration.
How very street theater. Mike keeps wanting to do a little street theater there himself....things like jumping out of the bushes with a squirt gun and say to the startled students "If I were a Palestinian homicide bomber, you'd be dead now." But as his attorney, I've pointed out the high likelihood of his getting arrested for exercising his First Amd. rights in that particular manner....especially since he is neither a student nor supporting the university's leftist agenda.
I think the photos of the alleged Iraqi civilians who are being killed in the war is a great idea. However, as the Cracker Barrel Philosopher points out, most of 'em ain't being killed by us.
Of course, the pro-Saddam set have never been ones to let the facts get in the way of a publicity-seeking "protest".

Takes me back to the good old days. I remember that many of the protestors on my campus were NOT students, but members of the RCYB, an international communist group funded by the KGB. They were presented as victims of American agression from various parts of the world, brought to the US to appeal to the next generation of Americans. But were in many cases hacks for the RCYB and not Iranians, Iraqis, Kurds etc.

Surprised they didn't do it in front of the Law School, too. (Sigh) Silly of me, I know, but it was always so much fun to intimidate the liberals with a little agressive "Bubba" action.
