I Don't Think So
France wants the UN to handle the post-war Iraq reconstruction, especially the restarting of the oil-for-food program.
"The U.N. must be at the heart of the reconstruction and administration of Iraq," said Villepin, speaking at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London.
"The legitimacy of our action depends on it. We must come together to build peace together in a region rife with a sense of insecurity and deep fault lines."
That's nice. I hear people in hell want ice water too.
In a passionate speech, he rekindled the memory of Anglo-French cooperation to defeat the Nazis in World War II, and said he was confident France and the United States would resolve their differences.
"Because they share common values, the United States and France will re-establish close cooperation in complete solidarity," he said. "We owe it to the friendship between our peoples."
And sucking up now isn't going to help you any, Dominique (who is allegedly a man). See, our peeps aren't going to forget what your peeps let you do....stab us in the back by your little veto thing.
Now what's my answer to your UN proposal??? Oh yeah, Blow. Me. We send our soldiers in to fight & die to get Saddam out of power, and then you want to come along and make more money off the aftermath.
I don't think so...to the victor goes the spoils, mon petit poulet de plume blanc.
