Stupid Closet
My daughter, the child formerly known as Bride-zilla, has called off her engagement & is moving this weekend into a house with 3 roommates. We took her some tools this afternoon (and got roped into helping her paint) and she gave us a tour of the new place. As we walked to the end of a hallway, she said "Oh, and here is the stupid closet." What, we asked, is a "stupid" closet? She opened the door. Inside hung her wedding dress & that of one of her roommates, who is recently divorced. She said they decided to put their dresses in there, nothing else, and call it the "stupid" closet.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Bless her heart, she's had a rough time these last few weeks...but I think she's doing the right thing. She was on the verge of marrying the wrong guy for all the wrong reasons.
I hope she learns from my mistakes and doesn't repeat them.

No, Libby is Mike's daughter. My daughter prefers that I not use her name...but there's a photo of her & my son posted below.

Poor kid. Sometimes it takes a heartbreak to make you get things back into perspective. Stupid closet works for me. I have tons of shit that would fit nicely in one.
