Bizarro World
My ex is getting re-married today to his first wife. I wish them both the best, I really do, but it's just....bizarre. They're getting married on their original wedding anniversary, which I can kinda understand...but they've also re-bought & moved into the house they had when they were married.
I just find that, well, kinda creepy.
Don't you?

Some things are just too hard to comment on tastefully!

At least now I don't feel so bad for thinking that was really strange.
It's not just me.

I don't think that "creepy" fully captures the sentiment.

Just heard from my daughter that the wedding didn't happen...they've both been in the hospital for some health problems, so the wedding was postponed for a couple of weeks.
It's still weird.

Somewhere in that is a Doctoral Thesis about the utter degeneration of our society....

Interesting doesn't begin to describe their re-enactment of their first marriage. Does their health problems mean that the wedding is off for another year?

Sounds kind of sad and desperate to me. "Maybe if we pretend the last oh, however-many years never happened, they'll just go away."
It might be that they are both just so afraid of getting old and dying alone that they will try anything. And that's even sadder than it is weird. But I think all people are hounded by the thought of being alone to the point that they will do some pretty sad and ridiculous things to keep from having to face the world with nothing between them and the void.
I know I have from time to time.

Hey, sometimes the the Devil you know is better than the Devil you don't.
But even though they got divorced, did anybody tell them they didn't need to get remarried to still be brother and sister?

David, I think you've hit on at least part of the reason for the upcoming nuptials...which were postponed for a few weeks. He stopped by today to see my daughter for a few minutes, and he looks really bad....like a walking dead man.
Drinking too much for too many years will do that to you.

Isn't that inviting all the same old problems BACK?
What makes them think that all those things that DIDN'T work the first time will work the second?
