Good Times & Good Eats
Tomorrow's the big birthday bash for my daughter at my sister's house in Marshall. My daughter, one of her roommates & Bubs are already down there, we're going down first thing in the morning....which for us means we should be there by lunch.
And oh, what a lunch! Homemade ice cream and birthday cake of course....my brother-in-law is smoking brisket, ribs & chicken...I made coleslaw....there'll be tomatoes & cukes fresh from the garden....my sister's world famous deviled eggs....and all kinds of other goodies.
I'm gaining weight just thinking about it.

Wish I could be there--wish her a happy birthday for me. Be sure to let us know when she starts her own blog!

I've never tried smoking a brisket. Is it hard to keep lit?

Smoking a brisket is pretty easy. The hardest part is getting it rolled tightly enough to fit in your mouth.
Seriously though, I've found that a smoked brisket keeps about as long as most other meats. But, then again, this particular treat never lasts long in my kitchen. ;)

Thanks Adam, I'll tell her. And I'll let everyone know when she starts her blog if she'll let me. You know how young women are.
The smoked brisket was great as always...and so were the BBQ ribs. (Pork of course, right Adam?) And the ice cream was almost perfect. I'm still so full I'm about to pop.
