Working Dog
Sollie has apparently decided that it's time for him to start pulling his weight around here and get a job. Not just any job mind you, but one where Mike works. For the last couple of weeks, when Sollie sees Mike getting ready to leave for work, he goes and finds a chew toy, carries it over by the door and sits patiently waiting for Mike....and one of us has to grab him or he'll run out the door heading for the car when Mike starts to leave.
Mike always explains to him that dogs aren't allowed in the workpods....though I don't know why not. He could carry the pager quite well I should think....and he'd be great as first-level tech support.
Silly old pug.

Why not put him to work? I'm sure his method of communication would make as much sense to non-techies as Mike's does....woe to those of us who don't speak geek!

He would probably work more than some coworkers of mine that spend all day (literally) playing solitaire!

He's at least as intelligent about computers as some of the tech support I've spoken to.
Bogie, sounds like your network admin needs to be deleting some programs.

Network Admin - we only have 6 people in the company (including the owner). I am the closest thing to NA that they have (I can muddle my way thru most things that need to be done). However, there is a very lenient policy and the one manager we have knows what is going on with the person I was referring to.

That do kinda limit your options don't it. One of things my instructor has stressed in my Windows OS class is how to not install games when we're setting up a workplace network to avoid this very problem. It amazes me how much of a problem this is. I have to admit doing the same thing on occasion, but I was self-employed. The only person I was costing money was myself. I've never done that when I had a real job.
