Thanks, Rita.
It's so frustrating to encounter so much negativity when there are so many other things that merit a positive response.
Maybe I spend too much time thinking about these things, but, when it comes to my kids, I only want to do what's in their best interest and sometimes that requires me to do some hard thinking.

No one ever said it would be easy, but raising your kids right is the most important thing you'll ever do.

She accurately describes a cultural condition and then thoughtfully provides the primary reasons for its presence or absence -
"It's about the time and attention you give your kids. It's about the way you interact with them and allow them to grow. It's about the type of presence you have in your child's life."
There is a line in a Jethro Tull song "in the darkness when the campfire's dead, to each his private hell." We all ultimately know what we are, and it often becomes apparent to us at the most inopportune times. Her acquaintances aren't exhibiting attitudes of superiority. They are nervous and clumsy because they feel flawed in the face of the writer's abilities. They know that they babble gibberish and vibrate frantically while she successfully monitors the children and makes pertinent points.
