Training In Progress
Over the weekend, Mike bought me a USB microphone headset so I could start using Dragon or some such voice recognition program to do most of my typing.
I'm taking advantage of the morning quiet to begin "training" the computer to recognize my voice. With my hillbilly accent & lisp-inducing retainers, that's not as easy as it sounds. I keep having to stop & repeat words over and over before the computer will recognize them.
I'm not sure what is training whom.

I wish you luck with Dragon. I worked with it a little bit a couple of years ago and found it frustrating as hell. Hopefully, they've improved the program since then. I'd be interested to know how it works out for you ...

I'm told it's much improved now....we'll see. I tried to use it several years ago & gave up after a few weeks. It sucked.
I'll let you know what I think this time around.

Makes me think of the scene in "L.A. Story" where Steve Martin is training his new phone.
(slowly and deliberately)"Call Mom."
Phone dials and rings
"Bob's pizza, how can I help you?"
