That's Entertainment!

We've only gotten about 1/2-1 inches of snow, but apparently the roads are icing over....which leads to one of my favorite winter entertainment spectacles.

Watching idiots who don't know how to drive on ice/snow try to make it up the deceptively steep & sloping street in front of our house.....like the one I just saw who obviously didn't realize that flooring the gas only makes you spin more, which makes you slide more.

Yes. I'm easily amused.

In 2001, after spending my entire life on the flattest plateau on earth (the Llano Estacado), which has ruler straight roads and very little snow or ice, I moved to Northern New Mexico to teach school. I rented a house in the hills, at the end of a long and winding trail, a couple of miles from pavement. It was always scenic, but after the first snowfall my car never saw my house again. I tried a few times but kept leaving car parts on trees and big rocks. I finally had to get up an hour earlier to walk down the mountain to my car and I never made it home before dark after walking up the mountain to my house. What I now understand is that the erie and sometimes terrifying sounds in the snowy darkness probably were not made by wild animals. They probably were the combined hysterical laughter of my neighbors.
