Low Down Downloading Blues
Sorry, but I've had to spend most of the day downloading class files. Which doesn't sound so bad, but the school's network is, shall we say, slow as freaking molasses in January. Multiple folders for multiple classes which contain multiple multi-Mb files over a slow network does not make Rita a happy camper. What happened to the good old days when the instructor handed you a diskette with all your data files on them? Oh yeah. The files are too big to fit on a floppy now. Thanks, freaking Access.
Now I have to go to my last night class of the week. Microeconomics. I'll try to resist poking a pencil in my eye to stay awake.
I hope it's not going to be as boring as I think.

Hell, whatever happened to the days when the professor handed out a syllabus (on paper!) and that was that?

They still usually do...and you can also usually download one from their websites. Along with your homework schedule, test schedule and freaking Power Point presentations that always cover things that aren't in the book so you have to print the bloody things to take notes on & study for tests. It's taken me the better part of two days to get everything downloaded for all my classes. And I haven't even started on my homework yet.
Technology is not always a good thing.
