Aha! So you've been to the Garden State. I hope you got to go "Down the Shore."

Nope, but I'd like to go back & see more of the state. We flew into Newark once and took the bus up to Manhattan....took the train back, which was a much better deal.

Usually that falls somewhere between August 23rd and 25th. If we're lucky, it's on a weekend.

Seriously, though, I think the best time to travel in Montana would be in late May or early June. It's not beastly hot, and the crowds aren't as bad in the tourist-type spots (Glacier Park, Yellowstone Park, etc.)

I've been to West Virginia, too - my daughter's father's family is from there. Can't remember where, exactly...Mann? Something like that. Amherstdale rings a bell, too, as does Buffalo Creek (her great-grandparents died in the flood). That's the extent of my knowledge about the south, but that's not really very south, now is it?

Next time you guys hit Minneapolis let me know - I would recommend a trip in the summer, though...summer being from July 2nd to July 15th. It's lovely that time of year.

We'll definitely wait until warm weather....but don't y'all have mosquitos as big as cows in the summer?

Heck ya, we do! Mosquitos carried off my dog last year. If you catch one, it'll fly your ass clear down to Missouri. Makes you feel like Thumbelina on the bird's back - it's great fun!

(They're really not that bad. Accounts of people being sucked dry from mosquitos are slightly exaggerated. Those people were weak and ill before the mozzies got to them.)
