In my own lame way, I tried the same thing. People were linking to a image from my Blogspot site. I changed the file to display an extended middle finger. Seems like that made the problem worse, I'll know better in a few days.

Change to an image of a obscenely obese, ugly naked woman. That'll learn 'em.

A while back, I made a "No Leeching" image, that showed up if someone hotlinked an image on my site. Well, I was really stupid when I did it, because I put the leech image outside of my protected directory!
D'Oh!
So, I find out that the image is being hotlinked by a pr0n site of all things.
After thinking about it for a while, I decided that the best course of action would be to give them what they wanted: pr0n.
It just wasn't the type of pr0n they were expecting!
Needless to say, I was de-linked post haste.
