Approaching Something
I haven't substantively practiced law in over a year due to my attending school, but I think the time for me to go back to work is rapidly approaching.
I just told the cat that, as her attorney, I would advise her to stop eating the dog food.
Or maybe the time for the onset of my familial senility is rapidly approaching.
One or the other.

I think the client/lawyer confidentiality rule has been broken here. I am therefore suing you on behalf of your cat. ;)

Sorry, but you don't have standing to sue on my cat's behalf.

Go with the Senility. It sounds much more interesting.

Judging from my mother and grandmother, it certainly is.

Barring a waiver from your cat, Andy is right. Turn in your papers. :-)

Andy may be right but he doesn't have standing to sue. He doesn't even know what our cat looks like. Some next friend.
Besides, we were in the hallway, and Sollie was right there on my heels as usual. No expectation of confidentiality.
Sorry gentlemen, but you lose.

Quit being all smart and lawyerly! ;)

Can't help it. Once they warp your brain so you think like a lawyer, you're stuck that way for life. My ex always accused me of cross-examining him when we had an argument. I'd always say that was a non-reponsive answer and would he like for me to rephrase the question?
; )

Or both....
