Give 'Em Hell Zell
Caught the last half of Zell Miller's speech last night, and all I can say is Day-amn. He same as called Kerry everything but an egg-suckin' dog....but with eloquence and style. Some 'pundits' have proclaimed his speech 'scary', which I think is just silly. Personally I like a little pepper on my gravy. Let's face it, most politicians' speeches these days are about as interesting as a CFO's discussion of this year's budget for paper clips. It was refreshing to see someone who remembered the rhetoric skills of the old days.
Speaking of which, Kevin has the link to the video** of Mr. Miller's bitchslapping of Chris Matthews. And a well-deserved bitchslapping it was too. Chris Matthews is even more rude than Bill O'Reilly....which I had previously thought impossible to be.
I say well-deserved because as Mr. Miller noted, Matthews was not only discourteous to a guest, but was boorish to a female guest. No decent Southern gentleman could let that pass unchallenged. It was amusing to see the change in Matthew's behavior after Mr. Miller lit into him. Most bullies react similarly to direct confrontation, in my experience.
All in all, it was a most entertaining evening.
**As a sidenote, I find it pretty funny that the MSN video crashes my IE browser. Irony, it's what's for breakfast.

He is, quite simply, the best. As for Chris Matthews, there was a time I actually liked the guy. He has become a complete ass.
