Aargh!

Will no one rid me of this troublesome pre-election hoopla? Both sides are getting so hysterical that I'm sick of them all. I just want it to be over. The wait is killing me. Like Mike said, it's not that the future of the human race depends on it, it just seems that way.

The only bright point so far is my daughter did get to vote today....after an hour or so wait. 24 yrs. old and her first time voting. And she waited in line to do it even after working a 12 hr. night shift at the hospital too. That's my girl. As stubborn as the day is long once she makes up her mind to do something.

I can't imagine from whom she inherited that trait.

*whistles innocently*

Thank the Lord you passed that genome on.....

Reasonable stubborness is a very handy survival trait. My grandmother was the most easy-going person in the world...until she set her mind to something. Example: She broke her ankle once, but absolutely refused to go to the doctor because she didn't like anything tight on her feet. No cast, no way, no how. She hobbled around for the rest of her life, taking care of my grandpa and everything. And nothing anyone said made a bit of difference. She flatly refused to go get it set or even x-rayed.

Now that's stubborn.

For once we agree. I made peace with the result, whatever it will be, today. I know life will go on basically business-as-usual for me and the people I care about, no matter who wins. It's a nice country that way, that's for sure.

Nothing to do now but vote.

I think that's another reason I'm sick of it...I've already voted, so I'm not interested in hearing campaign pitches. And we've stopped answering our phone again b/c of all the calls asking us to vote for one person or against X amendment or whatever.

Too bad there's not a 'do-not-call' list for political organizations.
