Shades of Andy
Don't you just hate it when:
- you've managed to find a little free time in your busy schedule to put up your Christmas lights but it hasn't stopped freaking raining when originally forecast, so you can't.
- college instructors give huge assignments over holiday break, like they're the only ones who deserve to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner.
- you work your ass off getting those huge assignments done, and just when you think you're going to actually get to have Thanksgiving dinner, an instructor says oh, btw you know those 3 projects I briefly mentioned at the beginning of the semester? Here's what they are and did I mention that they're due by November 30th?
- after 3 job interviews, you don't hear anything from the interviewer for 2 weeks so you shrug and resume your search elsewhere. And then they call you up out of the blue and ask you to come in for a 4th interview a few hours later that same day....and you're swamped with homework and had planned to put up your Christmas lights now that it's stopped raining. But you really want the job.
Yeah.
ME TOO.

Makes you wonder why Big G. invented time, if everything's going to happen at once anyway.

Hope good things happened with the 4th interview!

Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care....about time?
Thanks, Bogie. I remain ambivalent about it, mostly because they haven't made a salary offer yet.

Yeah, I've had days like that.
Well, except I wasn't going to put up my Christmas lights, and I don't have any big assignments over the break, and I don't have any job interviews lined up.
Other than that, though, I know *exactly* what you mean!

Maybe it's just an Arkansas thing, but they've done the same at every place I've attended. They wait until close to the end of semester to add projects/assignments, and they give a ton of work to be done over any holiday breaks.
Silly me, I always thought 'break' meant a time to relax & recharge.

That's exactly what it means. Who do you think is going to be resting up and recharging! :)

Hey, you're the one that decided she needed a new career. :-)

I think that was a new 'paying' career, Keith.
