Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
Whew! It's been a little hectic the last few days. My son made it here late Thursday night; WildChild has been here since Friday afternoon. Due to conflicting work schedules, we had Christmas at my parents' on Saturday.
A fun kind of hectic but still. I've barely had a chance to sit down. And when I did, I fell asleep.
Some WildChild gems:
- When I asked if he wanted to help me make Daddy's birthday cake Friday, he replied "No. Daddy HATES birthday cake. Him just wants me."
- He got a 'Whack-A-Mole' game from my sister.....which he insisted was called "Hit Da Beeb-ber". He couldn't understand why we kept cracking up every time he said that.
- He's got a bit of a cold, so when I noticed his cheeks looked a little flushed yesterday I checked his temperature (using the highly accurate Mom method, felt his forehead with my palm then the back of my hand). He looked up at me solemnly and whispered in a weak voice "Ma, I got beavers." Oh, I don't think so, I said. "Uh-huh," he insisted. "I sick. I got beavers."
And best of all, they're predicting 3-5 inches of snow by Wednesday evening, snow continuing through Thursday night (and lows in the single digits brrr!), so it looks like we may have a white Christmas.
I can't wait!

That would be the traditonal 'get-well' beavers, right?

He must be in his glory (the "beavers" notwithstanding) to have "Ma" and his dad in the same place at the same time. Sweet.

He has been as happy as a pig in clover, that's for sure. His cold is getting better, but looks like the rest of us are going to catch it. Nothing like the entire family being sick for Christmas, is there?

It's awful hard not to make some sort of beaver joke here.

It's awfully hard not to crack up laughing when he says it too.
