Local Relief Update
I'm pleased to announce that Matt and Vicki's church's tsunami relief effort is off to a good start. It really is for a good cause, so please consider making a donation. It doesn't have to be much.....Fr. Leo reports that they can feed a child for a month for about $10. And c'mon, you shell out more than that in a day for a couple of mocho-latte crappachinos.
One of the recipients of your donations will be an orphanage that was completely destroyed by the tsunami....an orphanage that housed around 1,000 children who are now without a home, clothing and food. And all donations will be hand-delivered by Fr. Leo, to insure that those who need them will actually get them.
Give a little to help those who now have nothing.

Rita,
Thank you so much for linking to the relief site. Between the local news coverage and the blog promotions, we had a great day yesterday. I sure hope we can keep up the momentum. It is very moving to hear Fr. Leo talk so knowledgeably and compassionately about his native land and his countrymen. They all understand what "nothing" really means.
BTW, sorry I crapped out when you all went to see Team America. It's been crazy. It still is. I am cancelling my New Years Day blackeyed peas and cabbage feast in order to help with the relief effort. Perhaps I'll just start the New Year over again in February and have it then. You're invited! :-)
Mmmmmm. Cabbage.

No problem.
We're actually going to be gone over the weekend, so New Year's in February sounds good to us too.
Except for that cabbage thing.
; )
