If a Tree Falls
If half of a large tree falls in our yard, and no one hears it, do we still have electricity? Surprisingly the answer was yes this morning....even though the power line running into our house is on the ground. (I'll put up some photos later, as soon as there's daylight enough to take them)
But from the sounds of our refrigerator compressor and the way the lights keep browning out, we don't have full power. So all non-essential electrical items have been shut down until the landlord & power company can get everything fixed later today.
Of course that doesn't mean my laptop. Sheesh.
I can't believe you even thought that.

Ummmm...don't you live like two or three miles away? I don't seem to remember any cataclysmic events last night. Of course, I may have just been in a very deep sleep.

Nah, this was just one of those "I told you so" events. Half of the tree was dead & hollow, and I'd been bitching at Mike to call the landlord & make him cut it before it fell on our power line. And with all the heavy rain we've had the last few days, it just finally got so water-logged & heavy that it fell.
I still can't believe it didn't break the power line....though it did pull several feet of it out of the attic. I'm just glad I wasn't standing under it at the time. (That tree is one of Sollie's favorite pee spots.)
