Name That Crab

So we have a 10 gallon aquarium that we haven't used in a while, and I'd been trying to decide what to put in it. We need more fish like a hen needs a flag, and neither of us care much for snakes or lizards. Something low maintenance.....like a hermit crab. Perfect.

A little sand, a few shells for food & water and of course the obligatory half coconut shell for a house later and.....Ma has a crab! WildChild thinks it's pretty cool as long as I don't pick it up. I'm thinking he'll get over that far too soon though.

But the poor little thing hasn't a name. So far I've been calling it "Not Dead Fred" because I haven't killed it yet. But I'm open to suggestions. Level of difficulty: all of our pets' names begin with the letter 'S'.

Satan is probably a bad choice though.

Crusty was the hermit crab in "The Incredible Mr. Limpet." not an S name....

If you don't like Satan, you probably won't like Spawn (short for Hell Spawn - one of my favorite comic book characters brought to the big screen)

Some "S" names -

Sisyphus - of Greek Tragedy fame
Simon - in favor of the beast from American Idol...
Sirius - in honor of the Harry Potter character
Spock - because we love Star Trek (but not enough to watch those old episodes again)
Sarek - for the same reason

Shoot, Mike collects Spawn figures. Crusty I like, though it doesn't fit with the 'S' pet theme. And Spock has always been my favorite. Funny, Sisyphus is my nickname for my daughter. (Yes, she's that damn stubborn.)

All are good suggestions, though. Thanks!

Sigmund? As in Sigmund the Sea Monster? For all you know, this crab is the reincarnation of Billy Barty, so that would be appropriate.

Hmmm. I like it, but it might be a little too difficult for WildChild to say.

Snack?

Heh.

I think that's what the dogs probably call him. That or Crunchy. Heh.
