It's a Sad Day....

.....when wanna-be terrorists are reduced to setting off cherry bombs.

....when a state's Board of Education committee feels the need to reenact the Scopes trial.

....when New York citizens lose their collective minds.

.....when I'm forced to admit that I agree with these two. Sorry, but it's true. For lawyering, Word sucks ass.

WordPerfect rules.

I remember the switch from WordPerfect to Word. I missed WordPerfect. However, I have been using Word so long now that I have completely forgotten how to use WordPerfect, and I don't feel like re-re-learining it.

GRRR!!!! I hate Word and its auto-reformatting that you can't turn off no matter what you try. I've been using word processing software since WordPerfect 4.0(?) DOS. I know how to format documents. All by myself. I don't need help from stupid Mr. Clippy.

I especially hate it when Word randomly changes the font when I change some text on my letterhead. It makes me want to stab my monitor with my letter opener. Repeatedly.

WordPerfect still works the same as ever, Jim. Just a few more bells & whistles that's all.

Wow, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who thinks that MS Word is some demon spawn from the darkest depths of hell. The more I use Word at the office, the more I sorely miss the old WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS that I used in college. It was a heckuva step up from Word Star and it never tried to auto-format stuff for me. I've had Word trash so many of my documents (not counting the conversion fiascos going between versions) that I still prefer to write my stuff in a plain text editor. Shoot, I'd rather us vi to write docs than Word.
