Good Idea, Bad Idea
Good Idea: spending thousands of dollars making the Bikes, Blues & BBQ the 5th most popular bike rally in the nation, and attracting millions of dollars for the local economy.
Bad Idea: once the bike rally has become enormously popular, proposing that the city take steps to "reduce the noise from motorcycles" attending the rally.
Yeah, cuz we all know bikers love to congregate & spend their money in places which harass them about the inevitable noise they make.

Especially when you consider they've tabled an ordinance banning Jake Brakes b/c the trucking companies around here convinced them it was a safety issue. So the continual annoying noise from truckers is ok, but the once per year annoying noise from the bike rally is not.
Actually, all things considered, the bikers are much more considerate about their noise than the truckers. Coincidentally, one of each just went past on our street. Guess which one was louder?
I swear, I'd like to dip those damn Jake Brakes in habanero sauce & shove 'em up those truckers' asses sideways. But I doubt I'm man enough to try it. ;-)
