T Is For Trouble
My mom said when she heard about the new hurricane named after me, she thought "Good Lord, those poor people. Are they in for big trouble!" Looks like she may've been right.
Forecasters said Rita could be the strongest hurricane on record to ever hit Texas. Only three Category 5 hurricanes, the highest on the scale, are known to have hit the U.S. mainland — most recently, Andrew, which smashed South Florida in 1992.
Local forecasters are saying we will even be affected here, with a predicted 2-3 inches of rain & 30-35 mph winds starting sometime Sunday. We definitely need the rain, though it would nice to not get it all at once.
Even nicer if we can get most of our furniture moved this weekend before it arrives.
