Return From Land of the Lost
Mike picked up our cable modem this afternoon, and had us online in about 5 minutes. Sweet! Back to civilization!
If only moving were that fast & easy.
The funniest thing that's happened so far is Sollie & the stairs. He went right up them, but is afraid to go down them. Smokey, OTOH, thinks the stairs is his own personal race track. This morning, Sollie was carefully making his way down the stairs when here came Smokey at a dead run. He raced down to Sollie and started smacking him on the butt with his sharp clawed foot. Down they came at a dead run, with Smokey smacking Sollie on the butt with every step....just like he was herding cattle. And the cat had this evil Jack Nicholson grin on his face the entire way. Poor Sollie kept trying to stop, but Smokey would just smack him harder.
It was freaking hilarious.

Hi Rita - Glad you are winning the battle. I am having my first contact with cats. The most unusual one lives in the barn and gets fed when I feed the horses. He has orange hair and completely interesting orange eyes, and is on the same bale of hay when I get there. He always yawns and stretches before he comes to greet me, and he is obviously my buddy but according to the owners, wouldn't get close to them and has never been around other people. He is still a kitten but I've seen him with several mice and the one chicken in the barn is in constant danger. Every time I stop he is climbing on me, drinking my water or tea, and taking bites of whatever I'm eating. They just have such an interesting world and I've never paid attention to it before.

Welcome Back!

Thanks BloodSpite. It's good to be back. I've sure missed having my high-speed window on the world.
Cats are such interesting little critters, aren't they Kenneth? They certainly have their own criteria for selecting their people. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I have noticed they won't have much to do with someone they don't trust. And they don't trust easily either.
Like I keep saying, animals & young children aren't much different.

Glad you're back. I missed my daily dose of Arkansas.

Is that anything like missing your daily dose of castor oil? ;-)
Good Lord, I'll be glad if we ever get finished moving. We're at the point now we're threatening to just haul the rest out on the lawn & burn it.
