Stupid Question #1,257

After showing a clip of some groundhog yesterday, one of our local newscasters asked "Isn't he soooo cute? Wouldn't you like to just pick him up & hug him?"

My first reaction: "What, are you stupid?" [/rhetorical question]

I've seen more than a few dogs that have been up close & personal with Mr. Groundhog. It wasn't pretty. I'd just as soon snuggle up to a running buzz saw. It'd be safer.

City folks. Sheesh.

I thought about calling the station & telling the newscaster I'd give him a quarter if he'd go find a cute little groundhog & hug it....all to be shown live of course.

Funny thing, Keith, I had the same thought, more or less: "If they like rockchucks (a/k/a groundhogs), they'd love badgers."

I don't see anything cute or cuddly about either. They make great targets for a .223 though.
