Oh Noes! Not the J00s
Apparently some NYTimes putz discovered there's Jews in them thar hills. What a meshuggana. Hardly news to those of us who live here.
Apparently he missed all the Hindus and Muslims who also live here....not to mention Rastafarians. And what about the Wiccans, hmm? There's no mention of Wiccans or Satanists either. What are you Mr. NYTimes, some kind of bigot?
But not to worry my stereotypically challenged friend. There's still plenty of old-time Baptists around.
The Rev. Ronnie Floyd cried "foul" when learning beer would be sold at a proposed $33 million baseball stadium in Springdale.
Floyd, who leads 16,000 members of the First Baptist Church in Springdale and the Church at Pinnacle Hills in Rogers, originally endorsed the project, making a video that was shown at a Springdale Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center last week.
"He (Floyd) has decided since that presentation to not offer support ... No one had told him that beer was going to be sold at the ballpark," said Alan Damron, associate pastor for strategic communications for First Baptist.
Well sure. Cuz you know beer inevitably leads one into committing the ultimate sin.
Dancing.
