Had my first post-op check-up this morning, everything is healing quite nicely the neurosurgeon said. I can somewhat increase my activities, using as a guide common sense and one of my dad's favorite sayings:

If it hurts when you do that, then don't do that.

The x-rays were totally cool, looking something like this and this. I kinda feel like the Bionic Woman now. I'll bet going through airport security will be a big pain though.

But all in all, I'm very happy with the results so far. The miserable sciatica is gone, which is a big relief. Post-surgical pain has been manageable. And my neurosurgeon seems to not only be a good surgeon but a geniunely nice guy who cares about his patients.

I've discovered over the years that unfortunately that's an all too rare combination in surgeons.

From a liberal fan, hope you feel better soon. Matt told me you were under the weather. Get well.

Thanks Don. I hope to be back up to speed in a couple of months. Just in time for the election coincidentally. :-)
