Those Who Sit & Wait
Today I'm waiting for 3 different tree guys to come & give us an estimate on how many ka-jillion dollars it will cost to take down the big elm in the backyard before it falls on the house. The dry weather has made it lean more & more every day, so much so that I've started calling it the leaning tower of tree-sa.
Since it's about 30 ft. tall and has a major branch up in the top that's partially split off from the trunk, I'm sure it won't be THAT expensive to take down.
Riiiiight.

Worth every penny. Cutting down trees SUCKS. I've cut down (and cut up) about a billion. I will cut down no more.
Okay, I'm lying. I've got a bunch of scrub trees in the backyard that I'm going to cut down. But no more mature trees!

This one is going to be pretty tricky, so there's no way we would do it ourselves. It's leaning over our bedroom, plus has a major split trunk way up in the top...that hangs over our neighbor's backyard & roof.
Just got the first quote. Wow. This is gonna be painful. But the guy seemed pretty knowledgable and professional.

Knowledgable and professional is definitely the way to go. You don't want an upset neighbor because of Jim Bob's Tree Trimming and Loose Meat Sandwich Emporium.

That must've been the name of the one who never showed. You know, that just irritates the shit out of me, to sit here all day and that one guy never shows, doesn't call.
