Hoka Hey
Well since we didn't all wake up dead this morning, I'm guessing it's safe to assume the return of the 12th Flying Camel Jockey was postponed for a more auspicious occasion. I'm only assuming he's a no-show, since I've seen nothing online yet. I tried to watch the news this morning, but it was all John Karr all the time.
Strangely, I didn't care that he ate a baloney sandwich, a bag of carrots and an apple for dinner yesterday. And yes, I know that was in contrast to the delicious dinner he was served in-flight back to the States.
Hello. Business class & first class get real meals at no extra charge instead of the 'snack paks' for which we in the cattle car get to pay $5. That's hardly news to anyone who's travelled.
Until there's some definitive evidence that he's actually a child-killing pervert instead of an attention-seeking pervert, spare me the minutiae of his day-to-day life.
Surely there's more important things going on.

It did rain two inches at my house over the past two days, and most of the generally arid desert around me is washing away in flash floods (wettest year in recorded history for New Mexico). Also my newest favorite food is a fresh tomato sandwich. I've had five already today.

We got a little rain yesterday, but not enough to break the drought. Mater sandwiches are some of the finest things in life.
Miracle Whip or mayo?

Miracle whip. I like the tang. For variety I also add pickled jalapenos. Isn't the drought/not-drought concept weird? And every region uses the words as though drought is always the abnormal condition. That's true in your case, but really, why would it be relevant in an arid desert. Everyone here talks about the last 15 years of drought, and how terrible it has been. We are in a desert. We really just experienced 15 normal years and now this strange water has shown up.I watched the most interesting old rancher on the news a few minutes ago. They've been interviewing flood victims throughout the state and finally ran into him. He is in his 70's and told them "bring it on. There is never too much rain. No rain and my cows die.". His enthusiasm was just oddly inserted among clips clips of people crying and asking for government as they watched their stuff float away.

I like Miracle Whip better myself too. It's been really weird watching your grass grow & ours turn brown and crunchy this summer.
The rancher sounds like my dad. He always says we should never complain when it rains because you never know when it might stop.
I've never understood why people who live in flood plains complain when it floods. Just because it doesn't happen very often doesn't mean it won't happen to them.
