Dr. Hackencoff

Helpful hint #392: "Dude, I'm going to die anyway" will not stop a doctor's anti-smoking lecture. It will in fact make him worse. Much much worse.

I only wish someone had warned me.

Similarly, doctors have been known to over-react when an old hippie gives a complete answer to a question as to what drugs one might have taken in the past.

Helpful hint with dentists - they get their shorts in a wad when you refuse to fill out the medical history form (for the umpteenth time) - even when you tell them there is nothing different from last time it was filled out.

Or when I tell them the complete list of surgeries I have, they look scared. Or impressed, it's hard to tell. :-)

I've taken to carrying a list of my current meds just so I don't have to try & write it all down on their little forms...which never have enough room for that.
