More Than Meets the Eye

Or less, as the case may be. The power went off this morning, and here came WildChild complaining b/c he'd been watching a cartoon. About that time Mike came in from smoking outside and mentioned the power went off b/c two transformers had blown up...he saw them.

I heard a loud GASP!!! and turned to see a wide-eyed little boy, who then exclaimed "Really?? I wanna go see them!!"

Took me a few seconds to get the reason for his sudden excitement, then it hit me. "No, honey, Pa doesn't mean THOSE kind of Transformers. This kind is just the things that are on the power lines to help the electricity get through."

"Oh." He sagged in disappointment. The power came back. He brightened. "Is the power going to stay on long enough for me to finish watching my cartoon?"

"Yes, I think so."

"Cool!" And off he ran.

I can only imagine what kind of fierce battle he imagined had taken place.
