O RLY?

Since the National Park Service is charged with preserving and protecting our National Parks, why is this necessary?

The state Game and Fish Commission has agreed to a 4-year program to restock catfish in the Buffalo River.

Appears to me the only thing they're concerned with 'preserving and protecting' is the tourist trade. The effects of the overuse are starting to show....poor old river. I remember its former splendor. Sure there were cattle roaming around but I'll tell you one thing. I'd damn sight rather swim where there's been a few cows than where there's been over 1 million people doing God knows what in the water.

The cows are much cleaner.

They're also much smarter than the average New Jersey voter.

Maybe I'm just an ignorant hillbilly, but I just don't understand how 'return to pristine condition' equals 'allow unlimited canoe rental concessions'. Don't get me wrong, I like what they're doing to protect our rare & endangered stuff. I just think they should restrict the number of floaters somewhat.
