Those Who Do Not Study History
Are doomed to do really stupid crap.
So The One wants to emulate Lincoln's Team of Rivals? Lemme know how that works out for him. With Lincoln, not so much.
Which anyone who has more than a passing read-the-latest-popular-book knowledge of history would already know.
Disclaimer: I have not yet managed to read the entire book in question. It's interesting, but puts me to sleep after a few pages.

It was a terrific book, but the author of the linked article makes some excellent points.
As for Obama being Lincoln, I don't think so. Oddly enough, I think President Bush is more Lincolnesque by virtue of his pursuit of the War on Terror, despite the massive, screeching opposition he faced on the issue, even from those who originally voted for the war and now seek to re-write history.
No attacks in seven years. Some day, he'll get credit for that, but not any time soon.

Yep, I think he'll get credit but probably not in our lifetimes. Lincoln too was largely viewed as a bumbling idiot in his time.
The book is excellent. I've managed to get about halfway through it. So far I don't have the impression the author thinks the Team of Rivals worked too well for Lincoln either for the most part. It's more like it was a great idea but didn't work too well in reality. Though he did manage to keep it together better than most.
