Vato del Gato

This is so the new kitty. Every morning. Between 3 and 4 a.m.

It's a good thing he's so cute.

Back to the Grind

Much food was eaten, many miles driven safely and most of our Christmas shopping done...a good holiday all in all. Except for the incredibly heavy traffic we got trapped in on the way back up 540 after taking WildChild home.

Now that was a big ol' stampede of stupid.

Sheesh.

First Snow

We're getting our 1st snow of the year this morning. Not amounting to much, it's actually more snow pellets than flakes. What my mom used to call 'hominy snow'. And it's too warm for any accumulation on the roads.

Though warm is relative. I finished putting up our Christmas lights yesterday afternoon and 'bout froze my nose off. Wasn't too cold but the wind chill was nasty. We fired 'em up last night, and they look good if I do say so myself. I'm sure our neighbors think we're almost as bad as the Griswolds.

Especially our catty-corner hippy chick neighbor, whom I'm sure be hating us for our Gaia raping, resource wasting light display. I think I'll tell her it's our duty to support our indigenous peoples to the west by using as many utilities possible.

Hehe

Umm, Ok

Everyone at work was all abuzz this morning about this story:

Williams claims he was abducted, forced into the back of a van and brainwashed with an electric machine attached to his forehead, which made him forget his life as a minister and believe he was Bruce Kent Williams.

Williams said Tuesday he only learned who he was after treatment with the truth-serum sodium amytal, which returned parts of his memory.

All the fuss was because Mr. Williams is the mayor of neighboring Centerton.

A very...ummm....interesting story.

Gobble Gobble

Hope everyone has a safe & happy Thanksgiving! I've gotten about half my baking done...and so far have only filled the house with smoke when I almost set the oven on fire and then later burned my hand on a hot pot handle. That's pretty good for me.

Remember the favorite saying at our house:

Dinner isn't ready until the smoke detector goes off!

You're Next

Told you so.

The groups launched the Global Dump Soft Drinks Campaign at the Consumers International World Congress in Sydney, Australia, in late October. Their demands include asking governments to require soft-drink producers to stop advertising sugar-laden beverages to children under 16 and to impose a modest tax on soft drinks to fund nutrition and fitness programs. The campaign also promotes the marketing of lower-sugar products, selling existing products in smaller portions, and stopping sales of sweetened beverages in all public and private schools, from elementary to high school.

It'll not stop there either. Watch & see.

Suffer the Little Children To Come To Me

Just not in my backyard.

Since apparently that article got yanked *** here's the backstory at here and here.

I can't imagine why it disappeared when it contained all these quotes from 'concerned' parents who didn't want their children, who attend a nearby pricey private church-operated school, exposed to those kind of people. [/sarcasm]

Cat-like Typing Detected

So we upgraded laptops to ones with the handy 10-key on the side....which I didn't think about how that was going to shift the keyboard over. It's almost like learning to type all over again....and so interesting trying to log in to different online sites when I look up and see I've typed my password as 'ypem,kl-p'. Again.

And Vista would be great if it were compatible with say, some of my online bill paying sites. I swear right now it would be faster to just mail a check. Or hand deliver one.

I'm also getting pretty sick of seeing Vista's "Do you really want to run this outdated POS program?" popups. And I thought nothing could be more annoying than that stupid Clippy thing. Wrong.

Otherwise life is good, work is busy...and such a brain drain that when I finally get home, I just want to veg out, eat dinner & get some sleep. All Drama, All the Time is our motto.

Like sands through an hourglass, so are the days of my job.
