Mike says I'm a great wife.
My motto: Cut ya if you stand, shoot ya if ya run.
Sounds like Santa had a bad reaction to some medication.
A Brookland High School teacher donned a Santa Claus hat and beard, festive clothing and gloves and broke into his superintendent’s home Thursday night with a loaded handgun, police said.
And then things really got weird.
This year's Major Award for the most creative use of Global Warmening dogma goes to....*drumroll*....Sharp County, Arkansas.
Allowing sales of alcoholic beverages in the county would help the environment, according to members of a group called Save Energy Reap Taxes that is circulating petitions seeking a wet-dry vote.
"The people who live in Cave City have to travel 70 miles round-trip. That's a long trip just to get alcohol -- and that's a lot of greenhouse gases," says Ruth Reynolds, a member of the organization.
That Global Warmening. Is there anything it can't do?
Since the National Park Service is charged with preserving and protecting our National Parks, why is this necessary?
The state Game and Fish Commission has agreed to a 4-year program to restock catfish in the Buffalo River.
Appears to me the only thing they're concerned with 'preserving and protecting' is the tourist trade. The effects of the overuse are starting to show....poor old river. I remember its former splendor. Sure there were cattle roaming around but I'll tell you one thing. I'd damn sight rather swim where there's been a few cows than where there's been over 1 million people doing God knows what in the water.
The cows are much cleaner.
From all of us, including Santa Sollie.*
Disclaimer: No actual pugs were harmed in the making of this photo. In fact, the Pug insisted that I take photos of him only, refused to allow the Akita to join him, and refused to allow the photo session to end....until he got bored with posing. This photo reflects his ensuing ennui with it all.
This is prolly never a good thing to tell a federal judge:
Donavan, representing himself, told Marschewski that he and the U. S. government were an artificial entity and that the magistrate had no authority over Donavan because he was a not an artificial entity.
“You have no power over me,” Donavan told Marschewski. “I am a living, breathing, free man of the Earth.” Henningsen, Donavan and Dimmitt have filed several documents with Marschewski’s office stating they were not U. S. citizens over which the government and the courts had authority.
Just another example of Rita's Rule:
Reading a lawbook does not qualify one to be a lawyer any more than reading the Bible qualifies one to be the Pope.
Time for the attack of the MilkBreadEggsTM zombies!
They say too many people wait until the last minute to buy the essentials-many times even waiting until after the bad weather hits and road conditions worsen.
We're under a Winter Storm Watch beginning this evening and lasting through tomorrow for....1-4 inches of snow!
ZOMG! We're all going to die!
Eh, not so much. But if you planned to do your weekly grocery shopping this evening after work, wow.
Sux to be you.
Because the family farm is titled in my name, from time to time I get mailers from companies interested in 'helping' me make some money by harvesting all those trees. My response to all is the same:
GIT OFF MY PROPERTY!
I figure we don't need the money at the moment *knocks on wood* and unless they get a red oak boarer infestation, them trees ain't going nowhere. A kind of a hillbilly savings account you might say.
But recently I received a different kind of mailer....from the Arkansas Forestry Association. 'Let us help you' properly manage your timberland it says. It has all the PC phrases:
'sustain your connection to the land'
'protecting the environment'
'national Sustainable Forestry Initiative'
'protect....scenic value'
Mmm hmmm I know what that means. 'Let us take over your land' that's what that means.
There's even a postage-paid card to request assistance. Printed on recycled paper of course. Alas, there is no box to check for 'GIT THE F*CK OFF MY PROPERTY'.
So in the trash it will go.
